Need help solving friend's electrical problem on 2000
Hello everyone, a buddy of mine has a 2000 automatic and he recently had a electrical problem with his vette. He started the car and all his dash lights and idiot lights stayed on for the entire drive, they didn't go off right off like usual. They stayed on for 30 minutes and when he stopped and restarted, they finally went off. Then his power windows wouldn't work until the next time. Any help would be appreciated.

I'd check two places. See if water is accumulating on the passenger footwell. This may mean that water has gotten into the computer via the air conditioner. Also, check to see if the battery is not leaking acid onto the computer also. I have heard of both of these things causing electrical problems. I'm no techy...so others may be of better assistance. :yesnod:

Check out the "leaks" already mentioned first. It could be a bad control module and some have reported strange things like this that was traced to a bad ground. What codes were set?
