I am in the process of looking for new tires and the Nitto INVO are looking pretty good. I have read that changing the tire size can cause problems with TCS system. From searching I came up the requirement of just having a larger tire keeps the TCS happy. Is this correct?
Nitto doesn't offer a 245/45/17 but they do offer a 245/40/17 would this work fine. I would still be keeping a 275/40/18 for the rear. Also which set of wheels is the speed read from?

It won't cause a problem with the TCS system since the front diameter will get a little smaller. TC may not cut in quite as quickly since the rear wheels would have to spin a little more to make up for the additional rotation speed of the front wheels but that is all that would happen.
As long as the overall diameter of the rear tires are larger then front or the same size, you won't have a problem with tractions control. If the computer thinks the rear tire are spinning faster then the fronts, then you have a TCS issue. .
This size difference may be significant, but what the TCS will do with the info, I'm not sure. I just posted a response to another tire size question regarding Z06 rears, but will do the calculations for these sizes as well.
245/45-17: 245= tread width in mm, 45 is the aspect ratio (0.45), and 17 is the rim diameter. Using simple math (not actual measurements) this results in an outside diameter of 25.86", a circumference of 80.68" and 785 revolutions/mile.
245/40-17 = OD of 24.72", circumference of 77.65", and 816 rev/mile.
That's a 1" difference in overall diameter, and a 4% increase in wheel speed.
The stock rears are 275/40-18; 26.7" OD, 83.8" circumference, 756 rev/mile. Again, I have no idea what the TCS system will do.
