It won't start. He has replaced the battery and alternator, but the problem occurs quite frequently. One time (as what he has told me) is when he opens the hood and slams it shut, it'll turn over. I believe he has (or is going to) replace the starter.
I'm a 01 C5 owner and we tried troubleshooting, but to no avail.
Any and all help is welcomed.
Thanks in advance

Reason: Title was wrong. Should have been C4 instead of C5

One thing to think about. He could be having a problem with the antitheft system. If the contacts on the key or in the ignition lock are worn or corroded no start conditions can happen quite frequently. What makes them worse is the fact there is a time delay in the system so if you try to start the car and it doesn't start you have to wait several minutes before trying again. There is also some other antitheft system circuitry involved that could cause problems. It might be worthwhile to observe exactly what happens when he gets a no start condition.
you can also be getting an intermittant grounding problem. The grounds on the C5's are horrible and the root of most electrical problems. Forum member Bill Curlee did a nice write up on how to check out the grounds. I believe it is a sticky in this forum. Read that post and it may solve your problem.

Replacing the starter is actually a reasonable step. If the solenoid
is sticky, the "slam the hood" fix points in that direction.
If that doesn't solve the problem, do a search over on C4 Tech
for "VATS", in particular, bypassing VATS to see if that's the problem.
(That's the key/ignition resistance pellet thing that can get worn
down and cause no-start problems, as mentioned above).
