My 98 Vette started making an odd noise and was difficult to drive straight at times. The noise sounded like a ball joint popping when going over bumps and turning. Finally found it. The adjuster on the front spring that controls the front ride height comes with a rubber bumper bonded to it. The one on my drivers side come off and disapeard. I've been looking for replacement parts for the spring and can't find any. The only place I've found em is with a complete new spring. Any tips on finding one new or used not picky!
The original owner(s) might have removed the rubber bushings to lower the car. Some people like their cars slammed down lower. You're right, you won't have an easy time finding the oem bolts/bushings w/o buying new springs.
You might post an ad in the classified section and maybe someone who's converted to coil over shocks (or removed their front bolts/bushings to lower their car) will have their oem parts.
You might also try a site vendor called hardbarusa.com
I think they're the company who has replacement bolts and DELRIN bushings.

I had the same prob the OP does; now I have a set of his on my car; so far they've worked out well; Gary's has a delrin (sic?) foot instead of rubber
I don't know why the hell GM won't sell them separately
your not the only one!!!
just got my new spring monday for the same thing. paid for by GMPP because they dont sell just the bushing and bolt. i do have a set of the hardbar bolts and bushings i purchased before inquiring if warranty would pay for mine. i would sell them since i got a new spring with them. cost me $65 delivered to my door. i would sell for the same. they are better than the factory setup. bigger bolt head, better bushing, etc.
Thanks for all the replies. I'll be looking for a set soon but my water pump on the Dmax just took a crap and that's got priority this week. It looks like a PIA about 4 to 6 hours to change from what i'm hearing.
