Default Starter Wiring

Getting ready to put my starter back on my 99 coup. Can someone tell me which wires go on which terminals? Looks like I have a rust, red heavy gage, red light gage and black which I know is ground. The smaller red wire and rust go on one of the two terminals but which one outside or inside...please advise thanks-

Double check your wire colors.

Purple wire goes to the (small) coil terminal on the solenoid.

The thick red wire, as well as the thin gray and rust coloered wires all attach to the outer large solenoid post.

You'll see the inner large solenoid post has a braided strap that connects directly to the starter motor, you connect nothing to that.

Install the gray colored wire from the engine wiring harness to the starter motor stud.
Install the rust colored wire from the engine wiring harness to the starter motor stud.
Install the positive battery cable terminal to the starter motor stud.
Tighten the positive battery cable stud nut to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

Install the intermediate exhaust pipe assembly to the vehicle. Refer to Intermediate Pipe Replacement in Engine Exhaust.
