The vinyl cover on my driver's door is seperating from the backing. It is in the corner where the molded in arm rest meets the vertical part of the door panel. I have seen pictures of other C5's with this problem.
Has anyone else had this problem? If so, is there a repair or am I stuck with replacing the door panel?
I would post a picture, but I still excede the file limit on my CF Home Page so I can't post any new pictures.
My 97 was one of 400 or so cars that were held at the factory for replacement of both door panels (the truck it was on was actually called back to the factory) due to this problem. About 2 months after I took delivery both door panels did the same thing and were replaced under warranty. Then about a year later the left side door panel did it again and it was replaced under warranty. So far it hasn't happened again. Since you have a 99 you may still be under warranty (in service date??). If so the warranty should cover them. If not I would write a letter to the president of GM asking for his help.

I am having this problem also on my '99. :mad Bad thing is warranty ended in August. I purchased the extended warranty from Ken F. Does anyone know if the extended warranty would cover the failure also??
Sounds like it is common enough for there to be a campaign. My cay is out of base warranty but if this is a common problem GM may make good on it. I'll check with Ken Fichtner to see if there is a TSB yet.
How far out of warranty are you? GM and some dealers will work with you on a problem if the car is only out of warranty by a couple of months or a couple thousand miles.
