Rearview mirror HELP please!

Rearview mirror HELP please!
I am installing a auto dim rearview mirror on my '98 coupe and followed the instructions, putting the two orange wires on the drivers side of the 7 pin plug, and the brown to the passenger side and the black next to the brown.
The green light for the auto dim will only come on if the doors are open and the lights are on. the map lights do not work at all and the orange helper light does come on when the lights are turned on. The courtesy lights come on when they should. Fuses are okay and I switched the orange wires to no avail.
Anyone know the solution to this??

i thought about doing the same mod, i read of an install on this web site so im sure its still there, but i dont know where, i think it was in the same place that describes how to install cags and how to drop your car etc.

I figured it out...
carrjet - I thought the same thing but was afraid I would "Fry" something!!!
There are 2 fuses that relate to the mirror. I blew one and replaced it but still nothing, then I went through all fuses and found another one blow! So beware if you do this mod there are 2 fuses that relate 29, and 2. If one is blown the mirror/lights will not work correctly.

No, these are
the instructions I have, which are great but not enough "trouble shooting" info for morons like me!!!
They don't mention what fuses are linked with it so that was my problem!! All fixed now. I'm sure for someone who knows what they are doing these instructions work just fine, but for us Non-gear/electrical Heads we need way more trouble shooting info!!
