HVAC Control Units

Are the HVAC dual zone control units the same for years 97 thru 04 ? I need to replace mine and my local chevy dealer tells me there are several different models for 97 to 00 and 01 to 03 and 04 is different from all of them. A friend will sell me a unit for 400.00 and tells me its out of a 01 corvette. Good price, but will it work ? anybody know the part numbers for the different years ?

BTW, you an get your's rebuilt with a good warranty via a reputable company on that great auction site for like $100.00 I believe...

I haven't noticed any supporting vendors offering this, if I missed it sorry.

^ i had to get a rebuilt one from the same site $100 with a core charge, fully test to work, or brand new for $200...
