I finished putting the car backtogether after an accident (01z) and I can't get the fuel pump to turn on. The starter turns the motor but it won't start because the pump won't go on. I checked the ground in the rear and still nothing. If anyone has any ideas on what to check let me know.

I think the fuel pump only goes on for a second or so when you turn the key and then it goes off until there is oil pressure. Are you sure it doesn't go on when you first turn the key?
I know after a certain MPH impact the fuel pump will shut off for safety reasons. You will have to reset the pump to turn it back on. Im not sure where the cut off switch is for it.

The fuel pump energizes for two seconds each and every time the key is turned to the "run" position, regardless of whether or not the engine is actually started. This is for pressurizing the fuel rail purposes.

No it doesn't go on at all.

I did check the ground. I actually checked the back of the fuel pump where the harness goes in and it's grounded, but it's not getting power.

Have you checked for this? As stated there is an enertia switch that shuts the pump off in the event of an accident so fuel doesn't keep spilling creating a fire hazzard. They are usually a pushbutton reset. I'm not sure about the Corvette.

I've looked everywhere and I can't find one, but I don't think they have that button.
I can't recall if the C5 has such a button either........Suggest checking the owners manual, if such a re-set button exists on an automobile, it's ususally indicated in the owner's manual somewhere.

There should be a ground for the wiring harness that leads to the fuel pump on the back of the passenger head. There is also a ground on the back of the driver head. I'd check both of those carefully for a wire that's not grounded.
Just had this issue on a 3rd gen f-body last weekend. It was the first place I checked and sure enough.
I had the same symptom after an engine swap. The grounds at the starter werent attached correctly. There was a post here that described what goes where at the starter
Thanks for the info everyone. Just to clarify, I am getting ground to the pump because I checked it at the pump harness. I'm just not getting power. If I run a power wire from the batt to the harness, it starts. So I know it's not a grounding issue, just power. But I will check all the codes right now and maybe that will tell me something.
Did anyone hear anything about synchronizing the computers???

If you have replaced computers such as the BCM and/or the SDM, they have to be programmed to match each other. For example, the BCM and PCM exchange a security password every time the car is started. The password is changed after each start, so if you replace the BCM it no longer passes a "correct" password, AND THE CAR CANNOT BE DRIVEN. Another example is the SDM, PCM, and BCM exchange data such as VIN and SDM identifier, and if they don't match codes will set (B1001).
That's why we're telling you to dump the codes. The codes will tell what the problem is. Without them, you're wasting time playing with wiring, etc. THE CAR WILL NOT RUN IF THE COMPUTERS ARE UNHAPPY. Dump the codes.
