I recently purchased my C5 and wondered what the problem was with my lights when driving in mountains at night. Last night I pulled them out and found these NOKYA silver tip 80 watt blue things. I put in some 20% brighter than stock sylvania today. Much better .
I wasn't in the mood to spend a lot of $$ on HID quite yet, maybe never. So I found this easy bulb mod perfect and clearly showing a visible benefit as you will see in my pics. Only $60 bucks for these! Definitely worth it and my friend down the street did the same.
Where can these be purchased? Thanks for all the input
i could be wrong (wouldnt be the first time), but buying HID bulbs and ballasts and putting them into stock housing = not good.
the lights need a HID specific housing to get the HID effect. see a few posts up, and notice the 'line' for the light output. this is the correct way to do things...
This is not meant to be a wise guy post.
When I upgraded to my C6, one of the bigest benefits I noted was the big difference in lights. I live in the mountains of NY and good lights are necessary, the new lighting system is miles above the C5. I had and liked my 98 Vert. I had it from April 98 to June 05 and it was a good ride. So glad I upgraded to a C6. The new lights are fantastic!
That and the power increase are real good reasons to get a C6

IMO, i would rather upgrade the lighting on my c5 then spend thousands to make a c6 look as good as the c5..
they are the worst headlights i have ever owned!
this is why i rarely drive my car at night- with it slammed, i fear i might hit something or dmg a rim
one day, i will do my own custom HID, but for now i race it

Where'd you get them and what'd they cost? That sounds like a reasonable fix if the price is in line.

can you post pics of your headlights against a wall or garage? it will help give the others an idea of the pattern that these bulbs put out.
