Spark Plug wire wrap w/Long Tubes
What are you guys using and where do you get wraps for
Spark Plug wires with your long tube headers, they look to close for comfort.
I would rather be safe than sorry.

With my RK Sport long tubes (near carbon copies of TPIS) one wire was WAY too close for comfort. Instead of wrapping them, I installed MSD wires. The metal connector at the plug is bendable, with a slight adjustment I now have plenty of room, and high quality plug wires. :cool:

I consider myself an expert on wire burns. Taylor makes a good protective boot, but the best I have seen was what Chuck Mallett uses. It is a coragated tube with heat resistant wrapping. I also tied a plastic zip tie to the rail up by the coils and used it to pull the wire away from #5 and #7 header tubes. I was stranded on the south side of Chicago while on vacation due to my headers, get an extra set of wires to carry around. Ken Fritchner sell GM HiPo wires for $45, this is the best deal you will find. BTW I have shorty headers which are more prone to wire burns than LTs, still the same it is better to be safe than sorry. It took me 2 or three days to get wires slong with lots of cab fares. LOL

I am using the Cool socks from West Coast Corvettes. I have sat in traffic for a long time and had no problem with burning a wire.
