I was changing my PCV valve for routine maintenance and I broke the rubber grommet that goes around it and connects to the hose going to the back of the engine.
GM says they only sell the hose and I don't want to replace the hose
a) it costs $43
b) its probably difficult since the other end is behind the intake under the windsheild
I made one out of the broken peice + some scrap hose, rubber cement/RTV and hose clamp, but needless to say I'm not happy with this solution.
Does anyone know where I can get this part? Or even have a part number for the whole hose? One end of the Grommet fits over the big end of the PCV valve and the other end fits into the plastic tubing.
Have you searched places like Napa online? They show a couple PCV gizmos.
plus, I'd try Advance or Auto Zone. One other thing you could do would be to post a "want to buy" WTB in the C5 parts for sale section. Someone's bound to have one lying around.
I replaced mine during an intake install. Found out that behind the intake there was also a "T" in the PCV lines made of the same material----also shot. As was an elbow on the driver's side valve cover that was the same story.
If your PCV grommet is bad you might want to check these two other items.
