LS engine differences and opinions
just tinkering with the idea of building an LS powered track car. tube frame corvette prototype clone.
anyway, i'm trying to figure out what the other LS based engine specs are. i'd like to de-stroke (4.6 or 5.3 crank?) an LS1 mainly because my target is a sub 2000# car and would prefer the high RPM over big displacement torque. plus, let's face it, an LS engine spinning 9k would just be freakin' cool.
i've poked around a little on LS1tech but haven't found the specifics on the 4.6 and 5.3 engines.
anyone know where i can find the specs on all the LS variants?

I kinda doubt you're gonna get an LSx engine to 9k RPM ... I doubt the overhead valve layout will stand up to that with any level of reliability. Notice the LS7.R engine generates its highest HP/torque numbers at a LOWER RPM than the street version of the engine.

making me believe the redline of 7k RPM on the street engine is probably about what the racing engine revs to also.
