Car forgets mileage and some readings overnight..
This started happenning last year before I put the car away from storage. I left the battery connected so it was dead and put in a brand new one two weeks ago. Problem still there, plus some new ones..
Symptoms:
After car has been sitting serveral hours and then started:
1) MPG reset to 0
2) Usually one or two tire pressure gauges show 0 or are blank
3) HUD display which I keep at showing remaining fuel gets reset to oil pressure.
Things like seat position, options settings, temp are not reset.
After I put the battery in, the radio would turn off and on quickly when hitting a bump and once I hit a bump and got service car soon and ABS light stayed on a flickering. I tightened the connections on the battery and have not been able to recreate that error.
I don't know much obviously, and this my all be unrelated, but I'm hoping on getting at least a hint. I am picking up an obdII reader tonight to see if there are any error codes. New warranty doesn't kick in for 2 more months..
Strangly if I start the car with the door ajar...the settings get wiped much more often than if I get in the car, close the door and then start it. Possibly a voltage issue with the interior lights being on at the same time as a start? See if thats affects your issue.
Mine used to "forget" my key fob too....its been good for the past few months however.
Lastly, if you clip a low amperage battery charger/maintainer to keep your battery topped off, I'll take a guess that you won't keep losing your trip/settings. Mine seems to lose settings when the voltage drops below 11.X volts while cranking.
Bill Curlee has many great threads on grounds and electrical troubleshooting...take a search on the forum and you'll find a lot of info.

search "read codes" for instructions if you don't have an owner's manual. no need for obd2.
