I have the halltec stinger intake which isnt a true cold air kit. Would it help it I cut a nice hole in the plastic shroud that is right under the filter so give it more air ??
Some guys on here have gone to the local Walmart or equivalent and bought a plastic container of some kind, then modified it to make a scoop that mounts on the radiator side of the shroud, so that it crams the air right in to the filter. It's still not ram-air, but it works.
I took a holesaw bit and a hacksaw blade and cut out the plastic insert where the driving lights are, ala ZO6. This blows outside air onto the top of the shroud which takes it right up to the filter. This also helped the under hood temps quite a bit.
Yeah I should just remove the fog light shrouds and get the Z06 screens rather than cutting it to pieces
ZO6 screens would be a good option, but if you are doing it to hide the cut-outs, you can't tell they are even cut out because everything behind it is black.
