Default Z06 Alignment ??

I had my Z aligned today because it tore up my fronts after I lowered it. It drove great nonetheless, but now it seems the steering wheel is off to the left a couple degrees and pulls to the right a tad I want to see what you guys think before I go back and talk with the guys. They gave me the printout of the specs and it's all within limits now, and wasn't off to far before so what gives? Thanks

Josh

I would at least call them and let them know right now.

I would get the tires balanced first and go from there.

How much did the alignment cost you?

I had new(er) tires put on that I had in the garage for now some sportcontact2's and balanced. I'm driving a couple hundred miles on saturday so I thought I'd give it a chance to settle and see what happens... Alignment and 2 tires balanced/monted for $105 at TUFFY's. Might have been too good of a deal but the guys at the shop seemed knowledgeable and weren't ******.

My experience with alignments has not been good. I've had my car aligned to the Z06 specs at different shops and I continually wore out the inside edges of the fronts.

The last time I had it aligned, I told the shop to use the standard C5 specs and it currently looks pretty good. No obvious wear on the inside edges as yet.

On the steering wheel alignment being off a couple degrees. This is really not connected with the alignment specs. The shop just needs to adjust the toe rod out on one side and adjust the opposite side in the same amount and the wheel will be straight.

As a general rule, cars will pull to the right a bit due to the crown that is engineered into most road building projects. I very knowledgable alignment tech can compensate for this but, typically the OE specs will not take the road crown into consideration.

Z06 specs are pretty aggressive for a street car, fronts being a negative .78 degrees camber which will wear out the insides of the tires. the nearer to '0', the better the wear of the tire but the car will not corner as well. auto-x'ers will run a negative 1-2 degrees negative camber.
