Took the rear fender liners out yesterday - a few of you have put insulation in there - question...there is already a 1/2" thick foam piece on top, which apparently is all the room that's up there - did y'all put more in the more roomy front/rear portion of the liner...and did that do all the work?
Remove the stock stuff and replace?
Either way, only a minimal amount is going on top of the fender liners, that's for sure. I was assuming that's where all my rear tire noise was coming from, now I'm not so sure....
I put 1 layer of Frost king on top of the factor insulation and another on the side of the plastic liner (no more room for more) and then I put a few chunks where I could as long as the liner covered it. I also put some fiberglass in the large holes in front of the gas tanks on both sides. I tried two layers but the liner would not go back in place. Hope this helps

I don't remember the stock insulation, but that doesn't mean it wasn't there. I also installed Frost King everywhere it wouldn't be seen after the liner was installed (on the liner and the fenderwell).
Yes. It’s an easy mod that is cheap and had good results. Much quieter than stock IMO. I did the front and rear areas almost 2 years ago (I also used 3 wedge packs of Dynomat Extreme and did the rear underside of the rear fenders/filled the gas tank hole) and I am very pleased with the results. One of the nice benefits is how much cooler the back compartments and tub area stays on long trips and the center console area is no longer hot.
