Default LS6 Intake Manifold/headers and headwork on an LS1...

Through my research I've concluded that LS6 headers would be best on LS1 ported and polished heads made to match the D-ports. And also anyone paying that cash for the LS6 intake is not going to really be seeing any significant gains(20 horses?) without headwork. Any comments on this? Also, I'm looking at the TPIS headers and want to know if the H-pipe (or an X-pipe) would help rid me of some of the resignation through my mufflers. I have the Borlas with four 4 1/2 inch tips, no resignators. Should I buy the resignators? The sound is extremely deep. Thanks... :seeya

Id think it would be very difficult if not impossible to work the LS1 head to a D-shape port.

In a side by side comparison they appear to be stamped from the same mold, just different size exhaust ports. Aluminum is easy to port, just time consuming with a dremmel. Just match it up to the exhaust gasket, and do some polishing. :seeya
