Cat Problem Solved!
I have a daily driven 99 triple black vert. And my wife has a cat. Bad combo.
All was fine for a while. Then one morning, I got up to go to work and noticed a "liquid" down the passenger window. A quick inspection confirmed it was from the cat - on the cloth top!
Luckily, the cat was no where to be found. I rinsed off the top and started my daily commute.
From that first incident began a war between me and cat. I tried several tactics:
- Put the cat on the top and then swatted her off with a towel. No change.
- Put a piece of cardboard on the top when it was parked. "Incidents" continued.
- Parked with the top down. This seemed to work. However, I was uncomfortable keepng the top stretched and folded each night and weekends. Plus dust inside. Also, I was VERY concerned that the cat might change her venue to the interior
Finally in desperation, I talked to a veterinarian. He suggested using double sticky tape on cardboard or some other media that I could put on the car when it was parked. It turns out pet stores carry a tape just for cats.
My wife had a mattress pad "kid guard". It was just the right size. One side is fabric (like flannel). The other side is water proof plastic. I stuck the double side tape strips on the plastic side, about an inch apart and began to throw this on my top over night - sticky side up.
It has been over a year - no more incidents. I did see some stray cat hairs once or twice in the tape. I believe the cat got up and the top and immediately did not like the sticky tape.

PetsMart carries a spray that mimics coyote urin.
I`ve been spraying that inside my wheel wel on all four corners and i think cats got the message

Great story. I wouldn't use too much of that Coyote urine. Your car might start howling at night.

Was at a cookout last summer where the cars could be parked in sight. Left top down on 01 Vert. Some cat was checking out my car by walking all over the hood and deck and the interior until I zapped him w the alarm button from the key fob. Cat took off and was not seen again.
