Default Please Help-Installing C6 Z06 Shocks in C5!

I just bought a set of C6 z06 shocks from Gene Culley and I think I have a problem installing the rears. The top mounting plate of the NEW shock is slightly slanted, while my OEM C5 shock plate is flat at the top. As a result one of the top holes fits flush, while the other hole has a 1/4" gap between the plate and the mounting surface. By jacking up the suspension it closes the gap up some and it looks like I will be able to get the other bolt in, but does is this okay? Or, should I call Gene to return the shocks?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

P.S. If this is okay, which way should the slant be facing? To the front or back?

The shocks will work and they are a great improvement over the stock ones. I had the same concern when installing mine. Do not remember which way the slant goes, but it does mate with the holes when expanded. The slant should be on a slight angle which follows the contour of the attachment plate.
Hope this helps.

LOL, I had the exact same worry when installing mine. If you'll turn the top around and try it both ways, you'll see one way matches the contour of the plate. Install it that way. Tightning the bolts will make it all good.
ps, you're going to love the way it handles!

Thanks for you help. I got it done and took a test ride. What a difference!! No more second bounce when going over bumps and bridge seams. Very nice handling and kept a comfortable ride!!

Default Me too!

Same issues when installing. Got them in using a jack to get the gap closed in the rears. Hnadles beautifully. 10,000 miles since swapped. Love them!

I was asking what your reference was to... like "what were your old shocks, the ones that gave you the double bounce?" My '04 z06 shocks double bounce on some spots, I was wondering what kind you had that double bounced.
