Lost .2 HELP!
Went the strip last night and I have not changed a thing on my car besides cleaning the air filter since my last trip and I lost .2 across the whole board last night. My car runs consitant 8.1s in the 1/8 and 12.5s in the 1/4 at 111 mph and the best time I saw out of it last night was a 12.785@109 and the worse time was a 12.837. The weather was basically the same as its been lately also. The only ideal I can come up with was before we left town I was in a hurry an stopped to get gas an I'm wondering if I accidentally put 89 octane in it. At interstate speeds 72-77 mph the car averages about 24 mpg. And I was checking it last night on the way home and it was getting 29mpg@72mph and 26mpg@77mph with the A/C blowing! It wasn't that hot out I was just trying to burn out the gas that is in the tank in case I did put 89 in it. With the lose in time and increase in mpg could I be in low octane mode? Does the octane mode have anything to do with mpg?
