A/C not working
1. Your HVAC compressor is driven by a seperate belt off the crank pulley, so make sure that belt is there and snug, it has a seperate tensioner from the other belt.
2. The compressor end of the belt has a clutch that engages/disengages from the compressor. When you have the HVAC turned on look to make sure it is engaged and turning the compressor.
3. If it is engaging best to take it to someone who has some refrigerant and the correct gauges to see if it will take a charge.
4. if it won't take a charge, one easy thing you can do is check/replace the orifice tube. This catches small bits as they pass through the system and can get clogged up. Have a new one handy ($8), use the shop manual, but dont have the system open for long, and try a recharge after you are done.
5. Beyond that, take it to a professional you trust not to screw you over.
Hope that helps... Good Luck!
