Differential filling question (capacity)
Changed my rear diff oil yesterday. I thought I had a little more than 1.75 quarts of redline gear oil left from some work on another car. The service manual says 1.75 quarts is the capacity, so I put all I had in (which was probably a little more than 1.75 quarts, but I'm not exactly sure... guess it could have been less). I was expecting to fill it until oil spilled out the fill hole, but it didn't spill out.
Is the correct way to fill it to just fill until it spills out or just 1.75 quarts?
