I am the proud new owner of 2000. It seems that the original owner changed the wheels and tires. The current tires are 265/40/17(F) and 295/35/19 (R) non run flat.
They only have about 21,00 miles on them. What should I expect for miles before I need to change them.
What would you recommend to replace them with. I will be driving the all the time. So yes for wet weather I will most likely park it when it snows.
Also, if the front to rear diameter difference (should be ~0.5"-1.2" I believe) is outside the optimum range for Active Handling, it could have an impact.
My main concern is the in inside has about 4/32 but the out a way below that
I am also wondering what I should replace them with when it time
.
I have the Supercars on my 2000 Hardtop and absolutely love them. I also have the Goodyear GS-D3's on my 1985 and like them as well. I don't normally drive either in the rain if I can avoid it, but the GS-D3's are awesome in the wet. I think either is an excellent choice and while not inexpensive, great value for the money.
I happened to be following our club on a recent cruise and the car in front of me (a C4) had just switched to GS-D3's. We got caught in a shower and I was getting drenched by the C4 in front of me so I pulled out into the second lane. It was immediately obvious that of all of the Corvettes (C4's, C5's and C6's) he was throwing off much more water than anyone else... convinced me!
