Default So Cal Alignment

Greetings C5ers!

I'm in the market to get my Y2k Coupe aligned. Can anyone recommend a shop in the Orange County area? I don't mind traveling a ways to get it done right. I'm also looking for someone to paint my front bumper and hood. Suggestions?

Thanks.

Don,

I may have a paint referral for you. I'll pick up the car on Tuesday and let you know.

Thanks, Jim. I hope it's not DeLilo. They repaired my hood after a close encounter with a large peice of concrete on the 605, and I had to take it back twice. Once to get the dirt out of the paint that settled on it while wet, and once to try to get them to take out the 80 grit sandpaper swirl marks from getting the dirt out. It's still unacceptable. I'm tired of loosing the car for three days at a time.

What are you having done to your car?

Thanks again.

Hi Don

If you want to come to Santa Monica, I have an excellent shop for you.

Stokes Tire Pros
1117 S.M. Blvd. Tel: 310 393 0767
Talk to Jon Stokes (Owner)

He did mine, and it's really great. They do laser alignment, and If you want (depends on your body weight) with you in the car.

For a very good body shop, I would highly recommend "Performance Paint & Body" in Torrance. Gary Svecko, specialized in Corvettes for over 20 years. Tel: 310 618 9617

Let me know how it goes

Good luck.

Don,

a couple months ago, Fido (on another forum) reported that his dealer had damaged his C5. The repaint was done by Newport Automotive Group in Costa Mesa. Fido was very pleased with the quality of their work. I inspected the job at the Magnaflow dyno day and could not tell where it had been repainted. My son recently damaged the front bumper and front fender on his '99 SS Camaro. Based on Fido's results, we took the SS to Newport Automotive Group. My son and I are very pleased with the job they did and that is where I will take "Maggie" if I ever need paint/body repair. Here's their info:

Marc Greeley
Newport Automotive Group
290 Fischer Avenue
Costa Mesa, CA 92626
714-549-2998

Let me know if you need any other info.

Jim

1. Alignment--go to Tires Warehouse on Euclid in Fountain Valley and ask for Alex (he does the "Mako7 Black Z06 and will be getting it again soon).

2. Paint--Autobahn Autobody in Costa Mesa on Baker and ask for Phil Sanchez

Tell them Ted Purcell sent you.
