Default IRS/Gear/Drivetrain/traction question

So i don't fully understand how gears will affect my drivetrain...

Right now i'm working on figuring out what i want to upgrade before adding drag radials...

I've concluded a brace and 300m long output shaft are a must. I'm going to take my chances on the short shaft/gear but now i'm thinking about while in there replacing the gears out to 4:10's... From my readings it's almost seems like they will be safer on the drivetrain than my stock gears as they wont' hit the tires as hard... am i wrong in this thinking????
( i based this off my reading in searches on both CF and LS1tech)

someone guide me here....

Also i've never done gears but there are alot of never dones before that i do that come out 100% ok... I've hear of chatter or whinning form diffs after an install like this.. Usually an clue something isn't right.

From the pictures/write ups.. it seems pretty straight forward. honestly i'd rather do it myself than trust a local mechanic on my car...

Thanks in advance... You guys are the best

I have the DTE brace holding my 3.90s and harden output shaft and housing together. Gears are really fun.

With street tires it's over kill. With DR, im sure it helps

im installing DTE brace with 3.90's in my rear with LPE both shafts and gears, but i dont think traction will be a issue now with my 345 BF radials in the back

and about you installing your own gears, theres specials tools you need to do these rears.. i would get it done by a pro b/c theres special things we dont knwo that they do hah, and the slightest adjustment could cost you your gears whenmetal shavings are comming out of your drain hole....

so when you say your putting in these shafts an 3.90's i assume you are having one built or took your core in to have it upgraded and then you are reinstalling the casing???

I keep seeing everyone talk about upgrading their shafts are these a DIY job or does everyone send theirs off????

I'm confused a lil help here what can i do my self back there and what should i run away from???

You can do it, its not bad everybody is just scared of it. You have to be good or build a tool to get everything apart. Then put artificial load on it and take all your measurements. Not worth buying when you could be 3 for the prices of you buying one.
