I'm quite adept at removing womens'.........??? Your using fishing line and a hair dryer.......??? and here I thought I was the only kinky bbutttard.. :reddevil
C5chicky.........I removed mine about a year ago and have never looked back. In fact, I just sold mine to another forum member.
The job looks scarier than it is. First of all, the warmer the temp. in your garage the better. To start, you'll want to spray 3M adheasive remover (liberally) along the top edge. Next, heat up the BSMs with a hair dryer, then, using 30lbs monofiliment fish line, run the line down the back side of the BSM. VERY IMPORTANT wear a good set of leather gloves. The monofiliment WILL cut your hands. I don't see how dental floss would be strong enough. Once removed, (it will look like hell) use the 3M adheasive remover to clean up. My C5 is a '98 and I didn't have any discoloring issues. Good luck and DON'T panic.

Yep - pretty much duplicates my experience... Mineral spirits will clean up the left-over goo. Don't "saw" with the fishing line, beause it will chew into the edges of the BSM's.
C5Chicky, Murphy's Law will take effect the day you take them off...and when that inconsiderate person puts a nice ding in your door you'll wish you had never taken them off. I ordered mine...and though she's only a weekend cruiser I know it only takes one time (even when you've parked way out or on an end spot...someone will find a way to place a "mark" on you). You should reconsider. :yesnod:
