I am thinking about, removing the codes and programs that run the smog air pump and all that stuff, I don’t want to remove the hardware in case someday I may need to replace it. right now I don’t need them, I have had the ck light on for a year, have try clean out the valve. I don’t have the tools or the smart to figure it out. So a tuner friend say that we could deprogram it and remove the codes, can this be done, without any other problems
Thanks for the help
i guess my concern is that we will be able to add back the codes and program, when needed, also that i will not interfere with any other system in the car. i was also hoping to hear from otheer who have done this how how there experience has been.
thanks
After header install I decided to eliminate the A.I.R. system--So I went to the tables and disabled all the appropriate things there--then went over to the diagnostics reporting and turned off all the matching MIL lights and set the matching DTC reporting to "not reported"
However --------my AIR pump continued to turn on & off !!!!! For the life of me I can see no valid reason why it would still turn on---SO I then un-plugged the connector at the pump itself under the driver's side front fender and it finally quit working--and no codes !!!
thanks, this is what i was looking for, so i quess you can disable the code, so some reason i though you had to erase them or remove the hold program
again thanks
