Default 408 motor mount clearance issue

The pass side of iron block has a boss in the way of bolting up the motor mount. Do you take material off of the mount or block?

My engine builder cut the block w/ a side grinder. I would not want to alter the mount. If I recall it was a threaded nipple on the side of the block that had to be cut in half.

That is the casting that is in my way. I didn't think it was anything that I would be using as it is behind part of the motor mount.

Default It's simple!

I used a hacksaw to cut the boss off. It's easy to get at with the motor on a stand. I did not cut the mount

Just notch the mount. You dont need the boss for anything. Alot of guys have it machined down when they machine the motor. But if the motor is already built, I would take it off of the mount itself.

My mount is notched, and with over 850rwtq, if ANYTHING was to go wrong I would see it. I inspected it off the motor last week and didnt see one fracture or deformation at all.
