Default Intake question

I know this has been beaten to death, but I am still a uncertain with which air intake system to go with. I was wondering if someone could recommend a good non bottom breather intake system. I just want increase performance without the worry of hydrolock. Thanks everyone.

A Donaldson Blackwing would be my first choice. Check out this thread for pics/info:

For a top breather I think a Donaldson would be my best choice and a Halltech sidewinder would be a very close second. The only reason the Halltech is second is because of the surface area difference. There may be cheaper intakes out there but IMHO it doesn't make since to put cheap products on a $40,000+ car.

I would use the Haltech MAG (coupler) and the twin flow intake. I think this would work well and would look killer when you open your hood.

Hi. I'm certainly no expert on this but I have just installed a Donaldson Blackwing. I installed the Donaldson by myself, NO HELP, and I am very pleased with the results. If I can do it myself - most other people should be able to! I purchased the product from Exit28motors.com for $215 plus postage - well worth the money!

I also swapped my runflats for non-runflat tires - if you haven't done this then I would seriously consider it. It has transformed the car and made driving the car more fun than ever.
All the best
