I'm finishing up an install right now with their 3" x pipe. In my opinion they are good quality. Be prepared to cut your tunnel plate so that the O2 sensors can clear. The install is not bad. I used instructions on ls1howto.com for the FLP headers. You will need to unbolt the starter. For me the passenger side was tougher to get in than the drivers side.

Performance wise any long tube is going to outperform shorties.

Check out Dynatech Supermaxx headers. I bought the complete kit with cats and xpipe. My second choice was LG streets. David

PS, they are full stainless steel.
