Default Lightswitch going out?

Hey everyone hope your enjoying the nice weather and a great car at the same time today, however I 'm needing help figuring out a problem that I have with my 2000 C5. I'm having trouble turning on the lights using the light switch. I turn the switch and the housing will come out of the hood and but the lights will not turn on. The only way that I have found to turn the lights on is through the option button by turning on and off the twilight setting. I will appreciate any help. Any ideas on what this problem can be.

Headlamp controller module, multifunction switch, bad ground? It's gonna take some investigation. If you have a multimeter, check for voltage to the headlamps when they should be on. If you have the 12 volts with the meter negative lead connected to a KNOWN good ground, but the lights don't burn, the headlamp ground isn't making connection. If you aren't getting the voltage when you turn on the light switch, you're back to either the switch, the controller, or the wiring. check the plugs on the controller up by the passenger side near the radiator.

Default Hmm...

I had sort of a similar problem, I couldn't get the parking lights to come on, the headlights did however pop-up and turn on. In my case it turned out to be the multifuction switch. At the time I did some looking around the forum and a few people had posted similar problems. I believe there's also some fuses near the pass. side footwell for the lights, but I can't confirm that since I've never layed my on eyes on them.

Good luck
