locked up....shifting blues
I have read a few threads on this subject but none are exactly like my problem. first off, i jacked up my car and changed wheels/tires. the next day, it started a slight grind in 1st to 4th and also in 3rd gear (also downshifting to 3rd). Later that day i kinda had to get on it a little to pull out into traffic....it shifted perfect until i came to a stop and put the shifter in Neutral and it would not move (locked in place). I waited a few mins - got it to go in gear, and was able to limp it home. now it is sitting in my driveway and will not move out of first gear. I have no idea what it may be as this is my first 6-speed. any input would be greatly appreciated!
oh yeah, it is a 1999 FRC with 60k on the clock.

Man...I feel ur pain mine just started this last week just like yours.First it was 4th so I changed the fluid and then 3rd went and it stuck in gear when I came to a stop, but I was able to yank the crap out of it and get it back home and now its just grinds in 4th and occasionaly when I down shift into 3rd.Its crazy it just started out of nowhere

i took the shifter out and put it back in (lined up) and still have the same problem, 1-2-3 is the only accessible gears. after third gear, the shifter will not move.

You can adjust the piece the shifter mounts to also (name? - sorry, alzheimic). Try loosening and realigning it by backing off the three torx bolts. If no luck with that, I'll guess it's time for new shift forks. ?????

Do you have an aftermarket shifter? If so the torx bolts might not be set right. I live in Lufkin and may be able to put an extra set of eyes on it if you want. I'll be installing my Vararam Wednesday and can take a break if you need some help. Feel free to PM and I'll send you my cell if you need. Sean
