I am thinking about stroking my 2002 LS1 6 speed coupe. I want to keep my orignal block (14,000 miles)and just increase the cubes a bit and put the RWHP in the 480 to 500 range. I already have TSP LS6 CNC'd heads, custom Comp Cams XE cam, and long tube headers. After looking at several vendors web sites I have a few questions. This will be a pure NA engine. I am looking for recommndations for a complete balanced rotating assembly. There are many different vendors like Eagle, Scat, Luntia, etc. Eagle appears to be at one end of the spectrum and Lunati at the other. Additionally, I noticed Lunati offers a 383 or a 395 stroker kit. I know that the 383 is fairly popular. Any experience with the 395 stroker kit? Is it pushing the limit? Thanks

Reason: More clear title
Why would you want to keep your original block? The extra time and hassle it would take you're better off pulling your engine with 14K on it, selling it, and using the $$$ to go towards a stroker. It will cost you less $$$, and you will have less downtime this way.
I want to keep the orginal block with the car. It's my first Vette and I plan on keeping the car. Down time is not a problem. Mike, what kind of power are your making with the 382?
You can get a stroker 383 short block from TSP for about $3600.00 with Eagle forged crank and rods. With Lunati stuff it goes for about $6000.00. SDPC and others sell the top of the line Lunati rotating assembly for $3700.00. I have not seen Eagle or other brands rotating assemblies for a cost comparison. The questions I have are, how much better is the Lunati and does anyboby have any experience with the 395?
If you are keeping your original block for the car's value, then dont modify or stroke it. That will decrease the value. You can de mod it and bring it back to the original state, but you cant de stroke it.
