Default New short throw = shifting issues!!!!

I just put in the B&M ripper shifter and I love it. The only problem Im having is that it seems to slip out of 1st every once in a while. It wont do it once the car is moving, but it will pop out when I let out the clutch. Its like its just not going all the way in. Is this just an issue with the adjustments of the shifter or is this an early indication of transmission/clutch problems? Not showing any shifting problems through all other gears. Car is a '97 with 90K on it. THanks guys.

Back the adjustable stops out all the way. 6 speeds have internal stops, and the ones on your shifter not only aren't necessary, but are most likely why it keeps popping out of gear.

While you are in there, it wouldn't hurt to readjust everythinig to be sure it's centered.

The new B&M does not have stops. Several things you can try. First, many (including me) don't put it in first gear all the way when engaging the shifter. Because of this it will pop out when you release the clutch. I will do this about once a month. With the new B&M it takes more effort to get it in gear, but because it is somewhat more notchy you can feel it go into gear. Just make sure that you feel it go into first all the way.

The other thing that you can try is adjust the shifter attachment plate. Just loosen the bolts and move it back. There won't be much movement, but perhaps just enough.
