Lets start by saying I don't know much about how clutches work other than I need one to drive my Z.
I've started noticing a slight burning smell when I get out of the car after driving it hard, like some quick hard accelerations or WOT.
When I got the car last summer I never noticed any smell ever. I've come to my own non expert conclusion that it may be the clutch that I am smelling. Do you guys think this is a correct assumption? If so is there something wrong with it or is this normal?
The car has 30k on it and I have been keeping the clutch fluid clean. Also when I drive the car "normal" there is no smell that I notice. I never have the sticky pedal issues or any sliping issues with the car.
If you're lucky, it's just the brake pads. I suppose the clutch could be worn out at that mileage but many last quite a bit longer than that. Clutch life is totally dependent on how the car is driven...
