Default HARDCORE converter Question

I have a SS3800 stall now and was thinking of going to a pro thruster 4400 or a pro yank eliminator 4200 stall to get my sixty foot time down. Cant seem to get better than a 1.6 sixty out of the car. Also been thinking of going to 4.10's.

You should be able to do much better then that on the current stall.

What does the car do when you hit it?

We have a 4000 Yank in the shop racer & it 60's at 1.55 or better. 3:42 gears, M/T ET Streets.

May be better off looking at suspension mods for better transfer. Redgar has a great setup on his, post in the Drag racing section & ask his advice. Good luck!

Suspension mods really didn't help my 60' much.

QA1's and raising the back of the car up a 1/2" helped eliminate wheelhop and made the car more consistant.

I also don't run a front sway bar which only helped consistancy.

I had my best 60'(1.49) with Hoosier 28x10 slicks, 4.10's, and a YPT4400. The only problem with running 28's is that you have to change your shift points when going back and forth between the slicks and street tires. Plus some people aren't crazy about having to trim or remove your plastic wheelwells.

The higher stall will definitely help you, especially where your powerband is(shifting at or over 7k right?).

As for tires, M&H also makes a 26x12 that barely fits on the CCW drag pack, but from all I've read, they appear to be a awesome tire. I have a pair I'll probably mount someday. But for now, I'm going to stick with 26x11.5 M/T E.T. Streets which have netted me many low 1.5's.

ive tried foot braking the car and flashing. Best sixty was with flashing. i do have the front sway bar off the car. When the motor was bolt on the car would sixty in the mid 1.5x. Right now i have the shift points set at 6500 but will be changing it to 7k or 7200 not sure yet. If i do change converter and rear i'd stay with the 26'' tire. I dont think i would have to worry about the top end with the 26'' tire.

I would go with the 4400. I use a 5000 stall with a completly stock motor and 225 shot of spray and get 1.40 60' times.

Awesome 60' times! The 3:90's help there as well. A 225 shot on a stock motor shows just how tuff the LS based motors are.

These motors are awesome. I'm going for a 275 shot as soon as i get back from Honduras in 3 1/2 - 4 weeks.

sams96... you will be fine with a 7000 - 7200 rpm shift and 26" tire.
big stall + good traction = good 60' times !!
Then again, i've had the worst case of traction for over 2 years until i pulled the sway bar off and put on 90/10 lakewoods in front !!
The lakewoods are a whole story in itself.
