Blew the engine in my 2001 coupe.
Does anyone know where i can find a cheap rebuilt ls1
in southern california?
How much should i expect to pay?

Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know about one over there but my buddy has an engine with about 22k on it that he is wanting to sell. The engine is perfect but the car got wrecked.

thats great news!! (its time to step up into a ls6) you can find low milage ls6 for under 3500. keep looking, good luck getting the vette back up and running.

try revextreme.com the posted up a H/C LS6 not too long ago for that price. Made 440 or close to the wheels.

me and my buddy are up here in norcal. i jus sold my stock shortblock, but hes still got his entire longblock. i can get you a good price, wut all do you need?
specs on his motor are
2002 ls1 out of ws.6
55,000 miles
stock heads
upgraded valvetrain
tsp ms3 cam
ls6 intake
ls6 block

still in car we can have it pulled out in a day .

price would be around 2k for everything

looks like the insurance will be covering it, so im going to try to get them to put the ls6 in thanks for all the replies. i wonder if they will allow for a slightly modded ls6. hhhhmmmmmm, again thanks for the help.

motor swaps are a blast in these cars, there are a bunch of decent LSx motors out ther for around 2-3k

Sorry for the hijack, but since its on topic, I have a 01 LS1, damn near complete, out of a f body, with only 8800 miles on it. We replaced it with a 403 ls2. PM for details.
