Hi all,
Anyone have a suggestion as to keep the damn door handle pull bar bezels on the door panel from breaking at the slightest touch. I think the action of the door closing breaks everyone I put on, believe it or not. I am going to rig up something to keep the next one on tight. I hate to see a broken one that doesn't stay on. (Terrible design!)
Steve
Hi, I have never heard of this problem either and I am not sure of exactly what part your are describing.
The pull bar...inside the cockpit..in the center of the door...leather wrapped. There is no bezel around it.
The door handle..inside the cockpit..does have a bezel. This part clips on so maybe the door handle assembly attached to the door panel has its retainer clip broken off.
As for the pull bar..this is screwed into the door trim panel. So, may I suggest you remove the door panel (very easy to do) and see if your answer lies there.
Again, I am unsure as to what is actually breaking and I would be glad to offer any insights..you could Instant Mail me if you wish.
Are you talking about the little clip that covers the screw access? In that case mine have done the same thing...I just used a little black silicon sealer to hold it in place. :yesnod:
This is the first time I have heard of this. Has someone removed them before? It almost sounds like someone removed them and either broke the clip, or bent the clip so it is not holding the part in place.
