So, to pull the torque tube and replace the clutch on a c5 you have to completely drop the tranny?

Actually, you drop the whole rear cradle as a unit (wheels/diff/trans).
It's a project all right. You'll need a couple of jacks, as you
need to suspend the body, then drop the cradle, then prop up the
engine while you unbolt the torque tube, etc.
Be careful while lowering the cradle that you don't crash the back
of the motor into the firewall.
Look around, there are definitely people who have done writeups
on this...

It's not all that bad, i have done nearly 20 now, and it gets easier everytime. I just replied, because the first time i did it, i used DOPE's instructions to do it, and this is the first post i have ever seen him make. Now everytime i do something to the car, the guys always ask me.."Is that how Dope said to do it" Or if i don't know what's wrong, i get the "why don't you call DOPE". Just thought it was funny

i have access to a 4 post lift just need to get 5 foot stands to hold this stuff!
