Default 97 vete

I have a 97 vette with 70K miles and I was trying to see about how much it was worth. I paid a bit short of 11G. I cant find any 97 for sale anywhere is there a specific reason why people dont sell that year or is it just my luck that none are for sale.

11k is a great deal! providing it is not a rebuilt car. Did you do a carfax?
I paid 15k for a 97 6 speed with a new clutch and thought I did good. This was 6months ago. Most cleared titled 97s with that mileage go for about 16 to 17k. Over 100k miles they go for 15.5 and less from what I have seen in the midwest.

If I remember correctly. Since 97 was the first year of a Major Change, GM only made a limited amount. I believe they wanted to road test the production car and work out all the bugs. I bet someone with a corvette black book could tell you the exact number that was made.

So, I think you see less of them because a) they made less of them b) They made less of them and more people are holding on to them for collector reasons.

There were less then 10,000 '97's made....even less with 6-speeds. Each year after that chevy made over 35,000.
