Default Shock suggestions.

I've decided to purchase a set of 19's & 20's and was looking for some advise on shocks when running larger wheels. Does anyone have any recommendations you can offer.

Thanks!

It really depends on what kind of driving you do - Weekend racer or weekend cruiser, daily driver, long drive comfort? Also rims/tires that large will be heavier than stock so a stiffer shock may be in order (at least that’s the way it is in the JEEP world - so those with 19/20 combo chime in).

I like my Bilstein HD on my 01 z51 - Slightly firmer than z51 and great comfort on highways plus improve handling over stock.

If you have the base suspension then HD will be the next step up in firmness with much improved control over stock. Sports or c6 z06 shocks I would think would be the next shock I would choose (and may work perfect with heaver wheel/tire combo).

Do search on shocks – the subject been covered may times but no one has pointed out the best shock with 19/20 that I have seen.

Bottom line – any shock will be an improvement over stock – esp one with 40K + miles on them or the soft base shock.
