Default HID kit

I just purchased the HID kit, and the lights work great, but when i turn off the lights at the switch, the doors do not go down. Did I miss something in the wiring? Like I said when I turn off the lights the lights and park lamps go out, but doors do not close. Any help will be appreciated. TIA.

Update: if I turn the headlights switch off, the doors will only go down if I tap the high beams. WTF??

dont know that an HID kit would affect that....try installing your old bulbs and see what happens....

that's a normal issue with adding the aftermarket HID's to the stock housings.

i don't know what the solution is, but i do know that problem is common in your case.

Excellent, guess I should have bought from NTRBL. Oh well, a slight inconvenience for better lighting I suppose.

try a search, i've seen this topic discussed many times, but never had to deal with it personally.

This is a very common problem, since the HIDS draw so little amperage that the car doesn't sense a big difference when they are off or on, as they would with high draw halogen bulbs. Without the harness, you may well also have problems occasionally with one or both lights igniting, which is a pain in the ***.

Solution is a relay harness directly to the battery. Tbyrne can get you one. (They forgot to send me one, and after about 15 minutes on the phone, we figured out they forgot to send it with the kit--even though they knew they were selling me a vette kit!)

Also--you can turn the high lights on(regular bulbs), and then turn your lights off, have the doors go down, and then switch back to lows before you shut the car off. It will become a habit.

Flip on your high beams and then turn of your lights.

Problem is your wiring resistance of new HID lights is different than factory throwing of control module.

Thx for the help. I will look into the relay harness from Tbyrne.
