Which setup is better/usable on the street??
Hey guys,
Wasnt sure if this was supposed to go in forced induction or tech...
Anyway, ive been lurking for a while on corvette forum. A C5Z06 or C6 Coupe is in my near future, and i thought i would ask the experts which route is better to go.
I already have my mind set on a built 402. The power adder is where im having trouble deciding.
Im not a big fan of turbos or nitrous. I'm a supercharger kinda guy.
I've narrowed it down to either a centrifugal (vortech or procharger) or the Twin Screw Kenne Bell.
The car will not be drag raced. Just a fun street car. (not street racing). Just the good old drop it down to 2nd and punch it.
So, traction will be a problem.
I'm looking to be in the 700rwhp range. With that being said wich of these superchargers will be the most beneficial on the street.
I love the KB but it seems with a built 402 and all that added torque from the blower i would just be blowing away the tires.
Then again the centrifigal might do the same.
Just kinda stuck on my decision right now.
The question is, which of these setups would be more ideal for hooking up on the street from a 2nd gear punch. Built 402 with KB, or built 402 with centrifigal.
Also, if these two were lined up, who would be faster?
13" wide wheels with 345 tires and possbily the wide body rear will be on the car also to help for traction.
If anyone has any of these setups or some good advice then let me know. thanks
Mike

Either setup, KB or centrifugal, will blow your tires away in second and probably third gear at your anticipated power level. The KB will do it from lower rpms though.
Which is faster? At 700 horsepower, it mostly comes down to driver skill.
On centrifugals you're considering, you didn't mention the one with probably the best track record here: The East Coast Superchargers Paxton setup.

Call them up, they're highly experienced with all kinds of forced induction, and will help you choose the right setup for the results you want.
ECS has some authorized installers here and there, so it would be helpful if you filled out your profile so we know roughly where you live.
