uhh...what are you the MAF screen police?? Why do you care so dahm much if you aren't going to take your screen out?? If it gains a 1/2 HP in stock trim maybe with a CIA and Headers/exhaust and a tune it will increase 2 HP. Every little bit helps. 2 hp here, 3 hp there another 2 over there and guess what, that's 7 hp
BTW: Your avitar looks like Freddie Mercury on a bad hair day. Are you his brother or something?

you asked: Why did GM remove it from 02+
it was answered there; thought you would like to know why.
How far you away from the killeen area. I have had my car dynotuned at sunshine performace, but I wasn't really all that inpressed with the results. I put long tube headers, cat delete, and corsa exhuast with a tune and only got 23 hp and 14 tq to the rear wheels. I just got the halltech air bridge ordered. I want to do the screen. What do you think about the tune you got?? Better than the one I just got. I want to adjust shift points a little too.
Sorry - didn't get back to this thread. Is your car on 01? I'm in Houston area.
2) get a new tuner (take Closer_2001 up on his offer and spend some time doing your tune right)
3) port and polish MAF and throttle body
4) Differences in your car and mine:
-Corsa exhaust-same
-catless exhaust-same
-headers-same or advantage to you ( I have ebay headers)
-Vararam-advantage to you (I have a Blackwing)
-LS-6 intake-advantage to you (I have one now, but not when I dynoed it, yours came stock with one)
You should be making at least 15-20 more horsepower than me. My car dynoed 339 rwhp, 345 rwtq (on a dynojet). That means that you are leaving 25-30 horsepower on the table somewhere. The only other difference is I have a descreened, ported and polished MAF and throttle body. ...and, my motor probably has double the mileage on it (maybe triple )
5) just like Z06-Driver said, those little 1 and 2 horsepowers add up
6) Just do it.

I know that this thread is a little old and what I am about to ask is a little off-subject, but I have two questions for you. I live in Copperas Cove as well and was a little leary of Sunshine Performance's ability to work with Vettes, my question is: what is their level of competency/knowledge of Corvettes?
My second question is: I have a 2004 Coupe. I know I already have the LS6 intake but I am not sure if the Z06 air box cover or the descreened MAF are included in that or if it is just restricted to the Z06. I just bought my current Vette about 2 months before I deployed to Iraq, which was about 8 months before I was turned on to CF
EDIT: I read the post I quoted before I read the whole thread, so one of my questions has been answered (whether or not I already have a screenless MAF/Z06 air box lid) it would appear those options are limited to the Z06. My other question about the local tuner in Killeen still stands. Thanks for any response you give me.
