Default Anybody tried the Vararam Velocity Stack

Just put one of these on my car, just wondering if anyone else had given it a try. Havn't really driven it to see if there is any difference yet.....

I installed the VR velocity stack a year ago...Noticed no difference. I removed it... seems to me a waste of $$$

I just havn't seen any performance gains. I am scheduled to go to the dyno sometime next week, I think I may try a run with it and without it. Anybody try this??? Looks like a cheap peice of 40 dollar plastic. Looked better online when I bought it.....

had great results with mine. I installed it with a larger air bridge and I was impressed with the results. I noticed an improved low end throttle response and was able to break traction much easier on take off up to around 2000 or so RPM’s. I know others said they are not impress but IMO it was well worth it. I could tell a difference immediately. You do have to make sure it doesn’t move when you install the coupler otherwise it will **** sideways and will impede the air flow. I’m not sure how much difference the air bridge made but I would not remove the velocity stack until I get a ported TB. The way I look at it is try it and if you don’t notice an immediate difference remove it and send it back and get your money back (most large vendors allow 30 days or your money back – you pay freight back).

I had one before my h/c. I found out if you hold it up to your ear, you can hear the ocean.

My 99 came with one in it, and after reading alot of "it's junk" posts I removed it and promptly lost some throttle response.... so I put it back on and I got better throttle resonse! No other mods at that time...

Take that for whatever it's worth to ya...

I've got one in my closet. It came with my Vararam. If someone wants it I'll sell it for $20 shipped.

The velocity stack is basically simulating a ported TB (I know it decreases the inside diameter by 2mm which may impend WOT at high speeds). VS smoothes out the TB and helps mostly with throttle response. It may only show 3 to 5 hp from 1000 to 4500 rpm but it defiantly works around town. I will remove mine when I get the TB ported and post my impression. It is not a waste of money IMO if you’re only doing a few bolt-on mods and are only expecting throttle response and a few HP. If you’re racing and top end is important then ported or larger TB may be the way to go.

guys, give it a break. You aren't going to feel the earth shake with it in, but in theory, it provides a smooth venturi for air entering the intake, where presently there is a sharp edge. Very sound fluid engineering principles being applied here.

I have one in, and I will sell it whenever I get around to porting my tb. Until then, it stays in, regardless of whether or not my 'butt' meter feels a difference.

The Velocity Stack will not give you a "SOTP" feel but you will notice a subtle difference in your throttle response and crisper shift patterns - especially in the smaller V8's. If you do dynos before and after you will see the difference but 3 or 4 hp in a Corvette that already has 320-350 hp is an increase but just a "relatively" little one. Some people have reported bigger gains and some significant fuel savings!!! The Velocity Stack does work as it was designed!!!
