For those w/ the fuel gauge problem . .. how long??
Hi - well, another li'l bug in my car . . . . I nearly had a heart attack driving home from work when my gas gauge all of a sudden read empty and I was stuck in traffic!! I came home and did a search here to find out other people have had this same problem (I love this forum :D )
Anyway, for those of you who had this fixed how long did it take to get done?? I need my car (it's my only one) and I DAMN sure don't want to pay for a rental . . . .. so, is it a 1-day job or an overnight job?? If anybody knows of any tricks to get a free rental/loaner, let me know because it's probably the most convenient for me to drop off the car after work one night.
Thanks in advance!!

I needed both sides changed, it took the shop 4 hours, and my car was out of warrenty, it cost me a total of $741! to correct a known defect, thanks GM

Mine was completed in less than a day; how much less, I don't know since I made arrangements to have my car there all day. I do know that it was finished by noon that day.
Check with your dealer. My dealer will take the car early in the morning, drive me to work, and then pick me up at the end of the day and return me to pick up my car

Thanks!! We love the green ourselves. When I get done with my appearance mods this winter, I hope it looks even sharper.
I hope your dealer takes good care of you and your car. Before you take it in, try to get the tanks as empty as possible (whatever is left in there will be gone) and have them replace both sides .
