crank sensor failed with no codes. Possible?

crank sensor failed with no codes. Possible?

Hi guys,
just a quick question, is it possible for a crank sensor to be defective and not pull any codes? I am just wondering, thanks guys. It will help me to eliminate one possible cause of a problem I am having with my car, thanks.

I'm pretty sure if the crank sensor failed you would have PCM code(s).

Why not just set your mind at ease an just test it. There is a procedure in the service manual.

They do NOT always set a code. Last one that failed on my Bonneville didn't throw a code but I could see no pulse on my laptop scanner. Changed the Crank sensor and was back in business.
