What is involved in resealing the rear end ? Mine appears to be leaking at the seals . I don't mind fixing it but I sure wouldn't turn down advise or tips to keep this sucker sealed . I've seen other posts that have said their's started leaking again in 3000 miles , I'm leaving on a 6500 mile trip on the 18th and I don't want problems .

Many have. If you do a search under "rear differential" you'll find what your looking for.

Some say its easier to do than others...I looked at it as a repair I could take on myself, but since I dont have a lift...I personally dont want to be dropping the rear etc with no room to work even on the highest jack stands.

I had Chuck at Corvettes of Westchester do the leak and while he was at it, I had him put in a set of 4.10's...best mod I've ever done by the way...

Good Luck....6500 mile trip???

Depends on which seals you are planning on replacing. The halfshaft and side cover seals are not too difficult and don't require lowering the diff. I replaced my drivers side halfshaft and cover seal. Took about 6 hours. Have only put about 1000 miles on it but no leaks yet. There are plenty of threads on this subject and the shop manual has a good procedure. Good luck.
