I'm having a problem with a squealing noise coming from the a/c system. I only get it when I first start the car in the morning (but not every morning), and I can turn the system off and on 2-3 times and the noise will stop (air is coming through the vents even when I hear the squeal). I've seen several other posts regarding similar issues, indicating there may be some debris in the blower. I removed the panel under the dash on the passenger's side, but I don't know exactly what I'm looking at/for. Are there any instructions/diagrams/procedures available for removing the blower motor/fan?
I removed my HVAC blower last weekend. It was not that bad. On the passenger side, underneath the dash, there is a panel that you remove. No tools required. There are just two snaps in the front. You pull the panel off by simply pushing downward.
Once the panel is off (by the way, the service manual calls this the Closeout/Insulator Panel), look up and there you will see the blower... only three torex screws hold it in. So, you will need a torex screw driver to remove.
After I removed mine, I found lots of debris because evidently, C5 HVAC ducting makes nice habitats for mice.
